PSL is the looksmaxxing community's facial attractiveness rating system, originating on the early 2010s PSL.com / Lookism / Looksmax.org forums. It scores faces on a 0–10 scale across four official categories and assigns a tier: Chad, Chadlite/HTN, MTN, LTN, or Sub3.
Unlike generic “rate my face” tools, PSL scoring is structured. Each category measures a specific dimension of facial aesthetics, and the combined score predicts where you fall on the perceived attractiveness bell curve. It's the standard vocabulary for mogging, looksmaxxing, and face-rating across TikTok, Reddit (r/looksmax, r/PSL), and the broader looksmax internet.
PSL scoring frameworks vary across forums (PSL.com, Lookism, Looksmax.org, r/PSL), but most break down into these four overarching dimensions. The AI rates each independently before combining them into your overall PSL.
Facial proportions, symmetry, and balance. Are your facial thirds (forehead, midface, lower face) evenly distributed? Does your face follow the golden ratio? Is the left side a clean mirror of the right? Harmony is what people register before they consciously notice any single feature — it's why “average” faces consistently rate above-average.
Sexual dimorphism — how clearly your face reads as masculine (for men) or feminine (for women). For men: brow ridge, jaw width, chin projection, gonial flare, mandibular plane angle. The more dimorphic your bone structure, the higher this scores. Recessed maxilla and weak chin are dimorphism killers.
Sharpness of features. Sharp cheekbones with visible projection, defined jawline meeting at an acute gonial angle (~90°), straight dorsal nose, hard jaw-to-neck transition. Angular faces photograph better and read as more attractive across cultures. Soft, rounded features tank this score even when other categories are strong.
The catch-all category for everything that doesn't fit the structural three: eye area (canthal tilt, hunter eyes, almond shape), skin quality, hair density and styling, ogee curve, lip fullness, philtrum length. Miscellaneous can swing your final PSL by a full point in either direction — it's where grooming and looksmaxxing have the most leverage.
Inside every PSL score are these specific anatomical markers — the actual structural features the looksmaxxing community evaluates. Mastering this vocabulary lets you read PSL discussions and self-assess.
Different PSL forums emphasize different markers. r/PSL leans heavily on the eye area; Lookism focuses on jawline and chin; Looksmax.org goes deepest on midface and skin. Our scoring weights all of these, but no single marker decides your tier — combinations do.
Six tiers from GigaChad to Sub3. Most real-world faces land in MTN or Chadlite/HTN. Both ends are rare.

Mythical-tier facial structure. Internet-meme rarity. The bone structure ceiling — perfect harmony, maxed dimorphism, hunter eyes, ogee curve.

Top of the realistic scale. Razor-sharp jaw, hunter eyes, full dimorphism, model-grade harmony. ("Stacy" is the female-coded term for the same tier — Henry Cavill / Margot Robbie territory.)

High Tier Normie. Clearly handsome, exceptional in nothing. Decent canthal tilt, defined jaw, healthy cheekbones. Ryan Reynolds, Tom Hardy.

Mid Tier Normie. The bell-curve middle — balanced, unremarkable. Adam Driver, Jacob Elordi early career, leading-man-before-glow-up faces.

Low Tier Normie. 2–3 visible structural deficits — soft jaw, weak chin, narrow eye shape, asymmetry. Biggest looksmaxxing upside tier.

Below the normie range. Significant structural deficits across multiple categories. Often need substantial structural intervention — surgery, orthodontics, dramatic body composition work — to make meaningful tier movement.
Note: PSL tier names are looksmaxxing community vocabulary — directional, not clinical. The score itself is what matters; the names are how the community talks about it.
Take a selfie with your phone camera or upload an existing photo. Front-facing, well-lit photos give the most accurate read. Side angles, heavy filters, or low light reduce confidence.
The AI scores you across the 4 official PSL categories — Harmony, Dimorphism, Angularity, and Miscellaneous — then combines them into your overall PSL on the 0–10 scale.
Your PSL score maps to a tier — Chad (8+), Chadlite/HTN (7–7.99), MTN (6–6.99), LTN (5–5.99), or below. You also get the structural markers the AI saw and where to focus to climb.
The same face can score differently across photos. Here's what to control for.
Don't shoot from above (slims face artificially) or below (adds chin). Hold the phone at eye level, head straight, neutral expression.
Window light is best. Avoid harsh overhead lights (creates jaw shadows that fake definition) and dim rooms (washes out structure). No filters, no Snapchat.
The classifier needs to see your hairline, brow, and full eye structure. Push hair back. Skip glasses — they obscure canthal tilt.
Three or four photos at different times of day, different lighting. If results vary widely, you're a borderline case between two tiers — body composition and grooming will decide which one you actually live in.
Your PSL is a snapshot, not a verdict. A few things worth knowing if you're unhappy with your tier:
PSL is the looksmaxxing community's facial attractiveness rating system, named after the early 2010s forums (PSL.com / Lookism / Looksmax.org) where it was developed. It scores faces from 0–10 across four official categories — Harmony, Dimorphism, Angularity, and Miscellaneous — and assigns a tier (Chad, Chadlite/HTN, MTN, LTN, Sub3). It's the most widely-used vocabulary in the looksmaxxing and mogging communities.
Harmony (facial proportions, symmetry, balance between thirds, golden ratio adherence), Dimorphism (sexual dimorphism — masculine markers like brow ridge, jaw width, chin projection, or feminine markers like soft jaw, fuller lips), Angularity (sharpness — cheekbones, jawline, gonial angle, dorsal nose), and Miscellaneous (eye area like canthal tilt and hunter eyes, skin quality, hair, ogee curve). Each is scored independently and combined into your overall PSL.
PSL 9+ is GigaChad (mythical tier, top ~0.1%). 8–8.99 is Chad — or Stacy on the female side — top ~1–3%, model-grade. 7–7.99 is Chadlite / HTN (High Tier Normie, top ~10–15%, clearly attractive). 6–6.99 is MTN (Mid Tier Normie, the bell-curve middle). 5–5.99 is LTN (Low Tier Normie). Below 5 is Sub3 territory. Most real-world faces fall between 5.5 and 7.5. Anyone scoring 6+ is meaningfully above the population average.
Upload or snap a selfie. The AI maps 468 facial landmarks, scores you across the 4 PSL categories (Harmony, Dimorphism, Angularity, Miscellaneous), and outputs your closest PSL tier — GigaChad, Chad/Stacy, Chadlite/HTN, MTN, LTN, or Sub3. Lighting, angle, and image quality affect the result, so use a clean front-facing photo with even lighting for the most accurate read.
It's a directional read on visible facial structure, not a clinical or final verdict. AI-based PSL scoring is calibrated against forum-rated reference faces and consistently nails the tier within ±0.5 PSL for most photos. It's not a measure of your value as a person — it's a measure of how your bone structure reads in a single photo. Body comp, grooming, hair, and posture can swing your perceived tier without changing your underlying bone structure at all.
Bone structure is mostly fixed by the early 20s, but your *perceived* PSL — what scoring AIs and people rate you as in any given moment — is movable by 0.5–1.5 points. The biggest levers: lean body composition (reveals jawline, cheekbones, hunter eyes), proper haircut for face shape, daily skincare, dental work, posture/frame, mewing for tongue posture. Most before/after looksmaxxing transformations move at least one full PSL tier.
Forum/Discord PSL ratings come from anonymous community members and vary wildly — same face can get 5.5 from one rater and 7 from another. AI scoring uses consistent landmark-based metrics across the 4 categories so the rating doesn't depend on rater mood, jealousy, or bias. It's the same scoring framework PSL forums use, just standardized.
GigaChad (PSL 9+) is the meme/mythical top tier. Chad (PSL 8–8.99, or Stacy on the female side) is genuinely model-grade — top 1-3%. Chadlite (also called HTN, High Tier Normie, PSL 7–7.99) is clearly handsome but not model-tier. MTN (Mid Tier Normie, PSL 6–6.99) is solidly average — most leading-man-before-glow-up faces. LTN (Low Tier Normie, PSL 5–5.99) has 2–3 visible structural deficits but huge upside from looksmaxxing. Sub3 (below PSL 5) is severe deficits across categories.
Your photo is processed for the duration of one analysis request only. We don't store your image, share it, or use it for training. After the PSL score is returned, the image is discarded. Only the score and tier are kept for analytics — no image data persists on our side.
This free PSL test gives you a quick category-level read — your tier and what the AI saw. The full Mogged app breaks down 10+ separate metrics (jawline definition, canthal tilt, ogee curve, cheekbone projection, philtrum length, symmetry, frame, etc.), tracks photo progress over time, and builds a personalized improvement protocol — daily routines, exercises, hair/skin/dental, body comp targets. This page is the entry point; the app is the program.
