How To Improve Your
Omoggle Score

The honest 12-lever guide — what actually moves your PSL score, what’s marginal, and what to skip entirely. No bone-smashing, no scams, no theatrical hype.

Updated June 3, 2026 · Based on the live Omoggle scoring model + 90 days of player data

Two overlapping male face profiles — one with weaker structure, one with stronger jawline — illustrating the progress from baseline to optimized PSL score on the Omoggle ladder

TL;DR

Omoggle scores you on 4 PSL categories using 468 facial landmarks. To climb the leaderboard you have to move the underlying scores. The fastest levers are body composition, haircut + hairline, skincare consistency, posture, and photo lighting. Mewing helps slowly. Bone-smashing and supplement scams do nothing. The most useful diagnostic is figuring out which of your 4 categories is the weakest — that’s the highest-leverage thing to fix.

The 4 Categories

Omoggle’s underlying score is split across 4 weighted dimensions. Each has 2-3 levers that actually move it.

Harmony

25-30% of total score
  • Get your hairline matched to your face shape (a barber who actually understands forehead-to-midface ratio)
  • Posture — chin-tuck and shoulder-back lifts photographs by a half-tier on its own
  • Photograph at eye-level, not below — below-camera shots distort facial thirds

Why it matters: Harmony is the most underrated lever because nobody thinks about it. A 6 with great proportional balance reads as a 7 visually. Fix the frame, the math changes.

Dimorphism

25-30% of total score
  • Trap and shoulder development — wider deltoids visually pull jaw into focus
  • Beard or stubble matched to your jaw shape (or full-shaved if structure is already strong)
  • Photo lighting from above-front — accentuates brow ridge depth and jaw projection

Why it matters: Dimorphism is mostly locked at puberty, but the visual perception of it is movable. Trap/shoulder build + facial hair + lighting do most of the work for adults.

Angularity

20-25% of total score
  • Body fat to 10-14% (the single biggest lever — angularity surfaces underneath fat)
  • Mewing for jaw tone (slow, structural, takes months — don't expect a week of results)
  • Hydration + sleep — soft tissue water retention blurs every angle the algorithm measures

Why it matters: Angularity is the most movable category for adults because body fat is the dominant lens. Most people scoring sub-6 on angularity are 3-6 percentage points above where their face structure actually starts surfacing.

Miscellaneous

15-20% of total score
  • Daily skincare (single biggest miscellaneous gain — clarity reads as health)
  • Whitening / aligners if teeth are off
  • Eye-area: enough sleep, hydration, and posture (under-eye darkness is fixable)

Why it matters: Misc is a stack of small weights that compound. Each fix is worth 0.1-0.2 PSL points; together they're worth a full tier shift over 90 days. Most users underinvest here because no single fix feels dramatic.

The Honest List

What actually moves PSL scores, what’s marginal, and what people waste time on.

Works
  • Dropping to 10-14% body fat
  • Haircut + hairline shape matched to face
  • Skincare 6 months consistent
  • Trap and shoulder development
  • Posture correction (neck + spine alignment)
  • Sleep + hydration consistency
  • Photo lighting that doesn't lie about you
Marginal — only after the above
  • Mewing (real but slow — 6-12 month timeframe)
  • Whitening / aligners
  • Beard styling and matching
  • Skin-tightening via collagen / micro-dermal
Skip — not the levers people think they are
  • Bone-smashing (dangerous and ineffective — doctors warn against it)
  • Buying random supplements marketed as "jawline pills"
  • Hard-mewing for hours (won't speed it up, can cause TMJ)
  • Surgery before exhausting the structural-baseline levers above

The Camera Levers

Fastest wins available. Same face, better photo, immediately better score.

1

Eye-Level, Not Below

Phone at chin height or above. Below-eye-line shots distort facial thirds and exaggerate any softness around the jaw. The Omoggle camera is fixed at laptop height — match that elevation when you practice in photos.

2

Front-Angled Lighting

Soft light from above and slightly in front. Casts the shadow patterns the algorithm reads as angularity. Avoid overhead-only or under-lit — they wash out cheekbone and brow shadows entirely.

3

Chin Down, Forehead Forward

Slightly tuck the chin and lead with the forehead. Counter-intuitive but it elongates the lower face and projects the jaw. Tilting up does the opposite — softens jaw, broadens nose.

4

Neutral Expression, Eyes Open

Don't smile, don't smize, don't strain. The PSL scoring works on neutral structural geometry. A relaxed neutral face scores higher than a forced strong expression every time.

Under The Hood

What Omoggle is actually measuring — the geometric layer beneath the round-by-round score.

Detection

468 facial landmark points detected client-side via Google's MediaPipe Face Landmarker. Eye corners, jaw outline, lip edges, cheekbone projections, hairline. The points themselves are not transmitted to Omoggle's servers — they're computed in your browser, then the geometric ratios are scored.

Geometric ratios

Facial thirds (forehead / midface / lower), canthal tilt angle, gonial angle, cheekbone-to-jaw width, midface ratio, symmetry across the centerline. These are the same structural metrics used in PSL community charts going back to early-2010s Lookism threads.

Category weighting

The 4 PSL categories (Harmony 25-30% · Dimorphism 25-30% · Angularity 20-25% · Misc 15-20%) compose into a 0-10 score. Omoggle reportedly applies streamer-context modifiers when the platform detects viewer-vote noise, but the base score is structural-geometric.

ELO update

The PSL score is your structural read for that round. ELO change depends on the matchup: beating a higher-rated opponent moves your ELO more than beating someone below you. This is why two players with the same PSL score can have wildly different ELO — the matchup luck variance is real.

The takeaway: if you don’t change the geometry, you don’t change the score. Photo-side levers (lighting, angle, expression) move 0.3-0.7 PSL points immediately. Structural-side levers (body comp, haircut shape, posture) move 0.5-1.5 over 60-120 days. Anything else is grinding rounds with the same input and hoping the matchup luck swings.

8 Common Mistakes

Patterns the looksmax subs document every week. Each one’s a free 0.2-0.7 PSL points sitting on the table.

Playing in bad lighting

Single overhead bulb, cold blue tone, harsh shadows. Flattens cheekbones, eliminates jaw shadow, washes out the brow ridge. Easily drops PSL score by 0.5-0.8 points on the same face.

Fix: Front-angled soft light from slightly above. Warm 3000-4000K. Window light works best — match the angle.

Camera below eye level

Laptop or phone camera tilted up at you compresses the lower face, broadens the nose, and makes the jaw recede visually. Same face, same lighting, lower camera = lower score.

Fix: Camera at chin height or above. Prop the laptop on books, raise your phone, or tilt down slightly.

Forced expression

Trying to look hard, smiling, smizing, or tensing the jaw. The PSL scoring works on relaxed neutral geometry — any expression-driven asymmetry pulls the symmetry score down.

Fix: Neutral face, mouth closed, eyes relaxed and open. Don't pose — let the structural geometry do the work.

Playing at peak streamer hours

When xQc / Asmongold / Soda are live, the matchup pool is bombarded by viewers running the same hours. Higher-tier matchups, ELO bleeds faster than your actual PSL would predict.

Fix: Off-peak hours (mornings, weekday afternoons by your timezone) for cleaner matchup distribution.

Treating ELO as identity

Documented behavioral risk in the looksmax community — see the Solea & Sugiura 2025 paper. Multiple Reddit threads from May 2026 mention users genuinely questioning their self-worth based on ELO swings.

Fix: ELO is round-luck plus structure. Your PSL category breakdown is the diagnostic — work on the weak category, ignore the leaderboard until you've moved real metrics.

Hard-mewing for hours

Doesn't accelerate jaw development. Causes TMJ tension, sometimes lasting weeks. The structural change from mewing takes 6-12 months as background posture — not as effortful sets.

Fix: Mewing as default tongue position throughout the day, no forced effort. Bigger and faster wins exist (body comp, haircut).

Buying "jawline" supplements

Nothing you ingest grows or sharpens bone in adults. Mastic gum and jaw resistance trainers strengthen masseter (the chewing muscle), which is real but minor. Almost all supplements marketed for this are scams.

Fix: Skip supplements entirely. The protein / micronutrients / sleep stack from any standard fitness routine covers everything that legitimately affects skin and recovery.

Surgery before exhausting structural levers

Most users considering surgery are still carrying 16%+ body fat, have the wrong haircut, sleep 6 hours, and haven't done skincare. The structural issue is often just being covered. Surgical revision rates are non-trivial — bad first surgery limits later options.

Fix: Drop body fat to 12-14%, get a real haircut, do skincare for 6 months, then reassess. If you still want surgery after that, the consultation will be more honest.

What 1 PSL Point = On The Ladder

The PSL → ELO relationship people don’t talk about. Modest structural gains compound fast at the round level.

PSL Gain
Ladder Outcome
Lever Stack
+0.3 PSL
10-15 ELO swing per round at your existing rating tier
Lighting + camera angle alone
+0.5 PSL
Cross the line from MTN to HTN — visibly more matchup wins
Lighting + camera + haircut match
+1.0 PSL
Full tier jump (HTN → Chadlite). Match selection algorithm starts pairing you against higher opponents.
All photo-side + skincare 90d + body comp drop to 14%
+1.5 PSL
Two-tier jump. Leaderboard position lifts by 30-50%+ depending on your starting bucket.
All of the above + 6-12 months of consistent training

Read the table cumulatively. 0.3 to 1.5 PSL points across 90-120 days is the realistic curve for someone working all levers consistently. Most users plateau at +0.5 because they fix photo-side and stop.

Starter Plan

2 weeks of quick wins, then the structural lever for the long climb.

Week 1

Stop the leaks

Sleep 8 hours consistently. Drop processed sugar and alcohol entirely. Hydration: 0.6oz per pound bodyweight. Start daily skincare (cleanser + moisturizer + SPF — that's it). Posture check every hour at desk. These don't sound aesthetic — they all are.
Week 2

Optimize the photo

Get a real haircut with someone who'll consult on face shape (not just "the usual"). Practice eye-level + chin-tuck photos. Test 5-10 different lighting setups in your room — pick the two that read best. Re-run an Omoggle round.
Weeks 3-12

Run the structural lever

Body composition. Caloric deficit + protein 0.8-1g per pound + 3-5 weight sessions/week. Targeting 10-14% body fat. This is the lever that takes the longest but moves the most. Re-scan with Mogged every 30 days to track per-category changes.

FAQ

How long does it take to improve your Omoggle score?+

Quick wins (lighting, posture, haircut) can move your perceived score in 1-2 weeks. Real structural changes (body composition, skin clarity, traps/shoulders) take 60-120 days. Bone-structure changes don't happen in adults — work within your structural ceiling. The Mogged scan tracks per-category changes month-over-month so you can see which levers are actually moving.

Why am I losing so many Omoggle rounds?+

Three usual causes: (1) you're playing during peak hours when high-PSL streamers and their fans are on (the matchup pool is skewed); (2) your weakest PSL category is dragging your overall — most people lose rounds because one specific dimension (often clarity or angularity) is significantly below their others; (3) your camera/lighting setup isn't doing your face justice. Run a Mogged scan to find which of your 4 categories is the weak link, then prioritize that fix.

Can I improve my Omoggle score without surgery?+

Yes — body composition, haircut/hairline match, skincare consistency, posture, lighting, and grooming together move PSL scores 0.5-1.5 tiers for most users. Surgery only enters the conversation if you've maxed every surgery-free lever AND there's a specific structural feature outside the normal range. Per multiple Reddit threads (r/looksmax, r/Lookism), the most common mistake is jumping to surgery while still carrying 18%+ body fat — the structural issue often was just being covered.

Does mewing actually improve Omoggle score?+

Real but slow. Mewing (tongue-on-palate posture) does subtly reshape midface positioning over 6-12 months in adults. The mistake people make is expecting weeks of results and then "hard-mewing" for hours, which causes TMJ issues without speeding the structural change. If you mew, do it as background posture practice. Bigger wins exist on faster timelines.

Why does my Omoggle score change so much round-to-round?+

Two reasons: (1) the PSL category breakdown is structural-geometric and fairly stable, but the ELO change per round depends entirely on who you got matched against — losing to a Chad vs. losing to an LTN affects ELO very differently; (2) lighting + camera quality at moment-of-match move the structural score itself by 0.3-0.7 points. Same face, different light, different score. Standardize your setup if you want consistent reads.

Should I lose weight to improve my Omoggle score?+

If you're above ~16-18% body fat, yes — that's the single biggest unlock for most users. Angularity (which is 20-25% of the score) is gated by how much fat sits over your bone structure. Most people scoring 4-5 on angularity have their bone structure significantly hidden. Below 14%, returns diminish; below 8%, the face starts looking gaunt and scores worse. The sweet spot for PSL maximization is 10-14% for most face structures.

What's the fastest way to raise my Omoggle ELO?+

Two paths: (1) fix the photo-side levers (lighting, angle, expression, haircut) — you can move 0.5-1 PSL points in a week without touching your body; (2) sit out for 60-90 days, run the structural plan (body comp + skin + posture), then come back. The slowest path is grinding rounds without changing anything underneath — your ELO will oscillate around your real PSL score regardless of volume.

Does the Mogged score predict my Omoggle score?+

They use the same 4 PSL categories (Harmony, Dimorphism, Angularity, Misc) with the same MediaPipe landmark layer underneath. So yes — Mogged's score correlates strongly with what Omoggle reads, with a few minor calibration differences. Mogged's value is the category breakdown: instead of just "you got a 5.2," it tells you "your angularity is 6.4 but your harmony is 3.8 — fix harmony." That diagnostic is what you can't get from Omoggle rounds.

Is there a way to practice for Omoggle without playing rounds?+

Mogged is the practice mode. Same scoring system, no live opponent, no public scoreboard. You get a category breakdown, a tier verdict, and (if you opt in) a 30-day improvement plan targeting your weakest category. Use it as the training ground, then go back to Omoggle for the competitive verification. Multiple Reddit threads have asked for exactly this — see r/IndieDev (1k score) and r/SideProject from May 2026.

Can lighting really change my Omoggle score that much?+

Yes — controlled tests on the same face under 5 different lighting setups produce PSL score swings of 0.5-0.8 points. The algorithm reads facial geometry from the shadow patterns. Bad lighting flattens cheekbones, hides jaw projection, and washes out the brow ridge — all of which drop angularity and dimorphism scores. Front-angled soft light from slightly above is the standard setup.

What's the difference between my PSL score and my ELO on Omoggle?+

Your PSL score is a structural read of your face by the scoring model (Harmony, Dimorphism, Angularity, Misc — outputs a number 0-10 per round). Your ELO is a competitive rating that moves based on round outcomes vs. opponents. PSL is mostly stable round-to-round (the same face geometry); ELO swings 10-30 points per match depending on who you got matched against. ELO = PSL × matchup luck × volume. Lifting PSL is the only way to lift the ELO ceiling.

Is there a peak time when Omoggle scores higher or lower?+

Two patterns: (1) the matchup pool quality shifts with streamer schedules — when xQc / Asmongold / Soda are live, viewers playing along skew the pool higher-tier; (2) your own face reads differently at different times of day (overnight bloat, post-workout flush, evening fatigue). For consistent reads, control your variables: same lighting setup, same time of day, same hydration state. The off-peak hours give cleaner matchup distribution if you care about absolute ELO.

Should I shave my head for a better Omoggle score?+

Depends on your skull shape and forehead-thirds ratio. A clean-shaven head with strong angular bone structure (high cheekbones + defined jaw + good skull proportion) can score above what the same face scores with average hair. A shaved head with a tall forehead or soft midface gets penalized harder. Try both, compare the per-category breakdown. The Mogged tool's face-shape detection is fast enough that you can A/B this in 5 minutes.

Does facial hair help Omoggle scores?+

For most users yes — clean stubble or a well-shaped beard adds visual jaw mass + downward weight, which lifts Dimorphism and Angularity reads. The exception: if your jaw is already strong and angular, full beards can soften the read by hiding the bone structure. Stubble (3-7 day length) tends to be the safe middle ground. Patchy beards hurt more than they help — clean shave if it's not filling in.

Are skin filters or beauty mode cameras allowed?+

Omoggle's scoring runs on the live MediaPipe landmarks regardless of what filter you're using — the geometric ratios are what get scored. Beauty filters that smooth skin can lift the Misc category slightly (clarity sub-component), but they don't fix angularity or harmony. Heavy filters that warp face shape can actually hurt — the algorithm reads the geometry differently from how cameras render it. Use light filters, skip the warping ones.

What's the realistic Omoggle ELO ceiling I can hit?+

Depends entirely on your structural baseline. Most users sit at MTN-tier (PSL 4-5) and can reach HTN (PSL 5.5-6) with full lever stack over 3-4 months. Cracking into Chadlite (PSL 6+) at ELO ~1500+ requires a structural baseline of Chadlite-or-just-below — surgery doesn't unlock new ceilings cleanly. The honest read: optimize all photo-side levers, drop body fat to 12%, do skincare for 90 days, then re-test. The result is your real ceiling.

Where do I actually play Omoggle?+

The original site is at omoggle.com. Clones exist (omogglegame.com, omogle.me, mogomegle.com) with similar mechanics but less documentation around data practices — see our /omoggle-alternatives breakdown for the safety comparison. If you want PSL scoring without the live-stranger-video mechanic, Mogged's free PSL test uses the same 4-category structural read without any opponent.
